Listen : Dan Alcala and Harlem's Finest - Crack to the Future

I wish I actually remember if I played this game. Wait its not a real game, or is it? Do you sell crack? To each their own. Dan tells me the NES game was a rip off anyway and that the track started out as fun idea to screw around with, but after Harlem's Finest layed down the vocals and Christine Dwyer, aka Xteen Dreams, put in that sweet hook, not to mention the 8-bit crack heads gathering around the studio, they just had to start up a small business. The future is next Saturday when Dan Alcala's live electronic band, Rich Uncle Skeleton, "rocks" a house party in Williamsburg BK. Its friends only on facebook but send a message for directions if you wanna dance your crack off. Sorry, no crack allowed.

Listen : Dan Alcala - Tricky Tricky Remix

So I was listening to this aaaaaaaaaand when the singer, Karin Dreijer Andersson, comes in, I had that weird thing that I knew the voice. I dismissed it, but thennnnnnnnnnn, since I never listened to the original version of Royksopp's Tricky Tricky, I started off  checking youtube and low and behold she's the singer for Fever Ray and The Knife. So I felt cool. Thanks Massiel! I have to admit I don't and really never really did enjoy much Royksopp, but Dan Alcala remix guru that he is, 180'd my feeling about them and I'm gonna have to relisten to some of their stuff, but we'll see, maybe I aught to stick with the remixes.

Listen : Dan Alcala - 1901 (Pheonix Remix)

I like this remix. I recognize the vocals from a download from Stereogum that I grabbed not too long ago. So, the synth at 1:15 reminds me of "The Cars", which is awesome cause I love those guys. I still don't know what the chorus of this song is tho. Bald head, Bald head. What? I guess it might be "Fall'd..ed", like fell but only with a five year old's speech impediment. I'm too lazy to Google, but if you only try to figure out the mystery, you'll miss the whole story.

Dan Alcala DJ's around NYC and does live remixes with is troupe, Rich Uncle Skeleton, rocking sweaty, beer spilling loft parties in Brookyln. I couldn't remember how I got home from the two parties I went and saw them play. I'll post up some of their shit next time they have a party coming up, and we can all get fall'ded down drunk together.

Dan also has a few other remixes and DJ mixes up on his soundclloud page.

Actually, it's "Falling".
