Listen : Chico Mann - Analog Drift
Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 7:47PM
What is that noise? What's going on outside my window? Probably just a little party. Weird tho, cause I don't hear any music. I guess I'll have to provide it for them, Chico Mann style!
I got a friend, who I met through a friend, that knows this friend, Marcos, that makes some fantastic music with his band. Even tho I love you guys, I probably would have heard about the goodness by now anyway, cause they've got some awesome shit, and that's what I'm into. But really, Jason, get back to NYC.
Marcos is a kind man for allowing me to freely share the tracks below. But, its like a bag of chips, you're gonna want more. I can't help falling in love with the cover of Talking Head's "Once in a Lifetime". The old school TR's caress my techno ridden ears and Marcos' vocals are pretty much the shit in all the Latin new wave esque glory. But I've been jamming the originals just as loud. Chico Mann's latest album, "Analog Drift" is available for free streaming and a small download purchase on their bandcamp page. They've also been playing at great venues around NYC and NJ a lot lately, and sadly I missed the one at Santo's Party house, that place has the best system, and the one at South Paw so close to my apartment. Next weekend Chico Mann is playing at the Sound Liberation Festival in Brooklyn, which I'm totally going to check out. Anyone wanna come with me?
